Air Compressor Service Technician

I'm currently looking for a Air Compressor Service Technicians based in Oregon.

The business is a manufacturer and distributor of compressed air products / equipment.

Summary

Service industrial equipment, including air compressors (both reciprocating and rotary screw) ranging from 5 to 500 horsepower, positive displacement and liquid ring pumps, refrigerated and desiccant dryers, as well as vacuum systems, at diverse customer locations.

Locations - Eugene, OR Or Portland, OR (Must live within 1 hours commute distance)

Salary - $60,000 - $85,000 Overtime On call Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Review and adhere to sketches, schematics, blueprints, manufacturer's specifications, and maintenance manuals to determine the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using system troubleshooting methodology and diagnostic tools.
  • Preventative maintenance on reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors
  • Interpret readings on gauges, indicators, and dials.
  • Conduct visual inspections and listen to machines and equipment to identify causes of malfunctions.
  • Disassemble machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools to access the problem area.
  • Inspect and measure parts to identify wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Realign and adjust components as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanics, and pneumatics.
  • Verify that electrical power reaches the compressed air equipment and that voltage is within specified limits using testing instruments.
  • Test electrical components such as wiring, switches, and relays using test instruments and replace faulty components.

Duties

  • Perform upkeep on the company vehicle.
  • Arrange and oversee the inventory of parts and tools in the truck.
  • Fill out timecards, work orders, and paperwork clearly and promptly.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Utilization of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Requirement of a valid driver's license and a driving record eligible for insurance.
  • Potential for occasional overtime work and overnight travel.

Preferred

  • Possession of EPA Universal and refrigeration training.
  • Troubleshoot PLC's using diagnostic tools

Skills

  • Capability to identify familiar mechanical and electrical components.
  • Apply system troubleshooting skills proficiently.
  • Demonstrate effective customer relations skills.

Physical Demands

  • Apply force ranging from 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 25-50 lbs. frequently, and 10-20 lbs. constantly.
  • Engage in bending, twisting, crawling, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and maintaining a standing position while actively working on heavy industrial equipment.
